NeuLion/DivX launches mobile video sharing service
DivX, acquired by NeuLion earlier this year, has been working with Eurocal Group to develop a comprehensive suite of apps and services to support 4K HD video sharing between mobile and a variety of home entertainment devices.
The first of the services is Ohana, announced in March 2015, a new mobile video sharing service that allows consumers to create and share user generated video up to 4K from mobile devices to Smart TVs.
Eurocal also helped NeuLion/Divx expand into Android 4.1 and above as well as the Chromecast applications, iOS7.x devices, Broadcom browsers and an LG/WebOS platforms. Development included:
- Android: Java’ Cling UPNP library
- iOS: Swift, Upnpx
- DLNA
- HTML5
- JavaScript
- Angular JS
“Eurocal Group delivered working demo on very tight timeframe and continues to support our technology roadmap,” said Kanaan Jemli, CEO of NeuLion/DivX.
NeuLion chose to work with Eurocal Group because of its broad range of development capabilities from an experienced team of 400+ engineers and the ability to assemble a focused design team and begin projects within 2 weeks working from minimal specifications. The Eurocal Group team was self-managing delivering the full stack of architecture, design, QA and documentation services but were also an important augmentation of in-house technical expertise at significantly lower costs.
At the end of the project, NeuLion had a bulletproof video sharing platform delivered on time and under budget with major contributions to product spec and architecture, and a scalable SWAT engineering team available on demand for future projects.
